QR Code Reader & Generator scans 14+ 1D and 2D symbologies via three inputs—Scan from Camera, Scan from Photos, and Scan from Files—using a dual Apple CoreImage + ZXing decoding pipeline.
Three Ways to Scan Any Code on iOS
- Scan from Camera: Point your iPhone or iPad camera at any QR code or barcode for instant autofocus detection, complete with a one-tap flashlight toggle for dim restaurants, warehouses, or evening events.
- Scan from Photos: Received a QR code via iMessage, WhatsApp, email, or social media? Pick the screenshot or photo directly from your Photo Library without needing a second device.
- Scan from Files: Open images and documents stored in iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, Dropbox, or Google Drive via the native iOS Files picker.
14+ Supported 1D & 2D Barcode Symbologies
| Category | Supported Formats | Typical Use Cases |
|---|---|---|
| 2D Matrix & Stacked | QR Code, PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix | Web links, Wi-Fi, boarding passes, driver's licenses, electronics, healthcare |
| Retail & Book Barcodes | UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-13, EAN-8, ISBN | Grocery & retail products, price lookup, book cataloging |
| Logistics & Industrial | Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF / ITF-14, Codabar, GS1 DataBar | Shipping labels, asset tags, warehouse cartons, library & blood bank labels |
Smart Payload Recognition & One-Tap Actions
Instead of dumping raw text on screen, the app automatically parses the structure of every scanned code and offers context-aware actions:
- Website URLs: View the complete URL before opening it in Safari or an in-app browser, or copy/share the link.
- Wi-Fi Networks: Displays the network SSID, encryption type (WPA/WEP/Open), and password clearly so you can copy the password or connect.
- Business Cards (vCard, MeCard, BizCard): Extracts name, company, title, phone numbers, email, address, and website with one-tap contact saving.
- Phone, SMS, Email & Geo Coordinates: Call, text, compose an email, or open coordinates in Maps immediately.
Continuous Batch Scanning for Inventory & Tickets
Need to scan 50 product barcodes or event badges in a row? Enable Batch Scan in Settings → Reader → Batch Scan. Every code you point at is recorded into your timestamped scan history with haptic/audio feedback, without interrupting the live camera view.
How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot or saved photo?
Open the Home tab, tap the floating scan button at the bottom right, and select 'Scan from Photos'. Pick any screenshot or image from your Photo Library and the app will immediately decode and parse the QR code or barcode.
What does Batch Scan do?
When you enable Batch Scan in Settings → Reader → Batch Scan (Pro), the camera scanner continuously decodes and saves multiple QR codes or barcodes one after another without leaving the camera screen—ideal for inventory checks, books, and event tickets.
